Isha Kakkar was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia before her family moved to Fremont, California in 1999. She attended the University of California, Santa Cruz, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Legal Studies. Ms. Kakkar took a year off between her undergraduate studies and law school to intern for, and eventually clerk for, Fremont’s top boutique Estate Planning Firm, The Singh Law Firm.

 

Ms. Kakkar earned her law degree from Whittier Law School where she was a senior staff editor for the Whittier Law Review. She has also achieved academic excellence by earning the honor of being on the Dean’s List.

 

During law school Ms. Kakkar had the honor of being an extern for Honorable Justice Thomas L. Willhite, Jr. of the California Court of Appeal, Second District, Division Four.

 

Ms. Kakkar also had the opportunity to extern, and later intern, for one of Orange County’s exceptional consumer protection firms, Kazerouni Law Group, APC.

 

Prior to opening her own firm, Ms. Kakkar was in-house counsel for a construction company in Los Angeles.

Ms. Kakkar was selected for Super Lawyers' Rising Star list for 2022. Only 2.5% of the attorneys in the state get selected for this list. 

​

Ms. Kakkar has a very diverse background in law. Over the last 8 years, Ms. Kakkar has had experience with Business Law, Contract Law, Construction Law, Estate Planning, Consumer Law, Immigration, and Trademark Law. 

​

Currently, Ms. Kakkar resides in Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley with her husband, daughter, and adorable Shih-Tzu.
